Something does not work as expected ...
Well, make your reservations for the restaurants, when you make your reservation for the hotel. That's my advice on restaurant reservations, especially if you're going peak season. I did enjoy the buffet at Mosaic very much so, but it's more for family not friends. The fourth night I ate at Chopstix, the room looks like it used to be an event space, but they tried. The 5th night, my favorite restaurant Mesa Grill. Eating here, you feel like someone special. The atmosphere is perfect, the food is excellent, the staff are top notch.
In conclusion, I loved the cove. Do I plan on going back? Of course I do and several more times. I love the product and the service. Of course, just about every product has it's flaws, but the flaws are out weighed by the highlights. Love the Cove. It's beautiful and very clean and they are so accomodating.
Was Atlantis a Bronze Age Metropolis in North Africa?
We got there way before check in time and they took us right to the suite. The Adult pool is luxurious and so relaxing. The restaurants are very expensive, but worth it. We expected expensive. The trams from building to building are always availalbe. Room service is amazing and quick. This is an excellent place. We stayed 6 nights at the Cove. The rooms are lovely but very pricey. You are charged extra for everything, including the fitness facility and internet access. The pools and beaches are crowded and there are long lines for the water slides. The decor at the older buildings on the property Royal and Coral Towers is beyond tacky.
We had a problem with a Dolphin Cay booking and we were told to call the Quality Assurance office. We called repeatedly over our 6 day stay and nobody ever answered the phone there, and our calls were not returned. The best moment we had at Atlantis was when we checked out.
Atlantis as It Was Told in Plato's Socratic Dialogues
Don't bother going! Atlantis is a themed hotel in the same spirit as theme parks. Great for families, but crowded. The Cove provides a pool and area for adults only which was nice, but if you want adults only I think there are better places to go. The Cove beach and family pool area was very nice but they ran out of beach chairs early in the day due to the size of the crowd.
Our room was terrific with very comfortable beds. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. There are many great on property restaurants. The Dune restaurant was the best with terrific food, We ate on the deck looking out on the ocean. Lunch food was most easily obtained from the various outdoor poolside food stands, The Cove definitely had the best offerings for these type of eateries. The river rapids is great fun and better than a typical lazy river. In spite of large crowds this attraction never felt over crowded but it was busy. Our kids are teens so they thoroughly enjoyed the freedom the resort provided.
We went with friends who also had younger children and they loved it. We also participated in the dolphin experiences and the sea lion experience. I personally liked the sea lion experience best, but my teenage son liked being pushed across the water by a dolphin. Definitely a must do activity to be with these extraordinary creatures. Gambling was not great there with one person in our party commenting that you could have a similar experience in Shreveport, LA but I don't really care for gambling so I was not disappointed, It's a very nice place and I would return, but would probably prefer to go at a quieter time of year.
The Cove at Atlantis is our ultimate get away to the beach when we do not have a lot of time. We love the amenities of Atlantis with so much there to do but the exclusivity of The Cove. It is upscale, has a great adult pool where we enjoy relaxing with great music and views of the ocean. The staff there is always friendly and helpful. We have been three times and return this October to celebrate my husbands birthday.
We cannot wait to go back We are a repeat guests at Atlantis and we will never stay at the Cove again! We may not even return to Atlantis at all based on our negative experience, Our original reservation was for the Cove we later moved to the Reef. At the Cove, we experienced several issues. The shower did not drain, the water pressure was low, the remote for the tv did not work, the air conditioner did not get cold and the carpet was coming up and shredded in some areas. We asked several times for these items except the carpet to be repaired and they never were.
We then called and requested to be moved to the Reef. I spoke with Tiffany, the room coordinator and two other staff members on the phone requesting to move to the Reef. I knew from staying there last year, the Reef was less expensive than the Cove so I questioned why I would have to pay more to move - especially because I was unhappy with my room and the repairs were not done. She was extremely rude and questioned why I thought I shouldn't have to pay more.
I was very unhappy with the way it was handled and we are thinking of not returning because of this. We went to the front desk of the Cove and spoke with a man there I believe his name was Carlos but I'm not sure. I have no problem with that. I do not expect to get a refund, I do expect to be treated fairly.
The Cove is more expensive than the Reef, the Cove was sub-par and I was an unhappy hotel guest. They should allow unhappy guests to change rooms without incurring a fee especially since we were moving to a less expensive room!! As I was at the front desk of the Cove, there was another family there complaining about the very same thing and wanting to change rooms as well. The trip was not cheap and to treat guests in this manner is completely unacceptable!
