Neither of which could live up to the legacy of the original film. It seems to be that the trend going around Hollywood lately is the gender swap in reboots, as we see with Ghostbusters I encourage all artistic endeavors. I just hate seeing crap, and I hate seeing schlock. And I hate seeing when they take a very valuable and positive franchise and destroy it with something that sounds like a really good idea, but is not.
So, to me And give it to them the way they want it. But I am also not a believer in the reboot. I do not think it is a good idea.
‘A colossal achievement’ – Lost Girls by Alan Moore & Melinda Gebbie
I think when fans want a sequel to their favorite films, they want to see their favorite characters, and their favorite actors playing those characters, and they want to know where those characters are ten years later, or a few years later. And that is the fun of a sequel. That is in my personal opinion as a filmgoer and a movie maker. Everyone has the right to their opinion.
I have to make sure my intentions are pure. It seems like a stretch. I guess this is a good way to put it for a vampire movie. That sounds like a gimmick. If there was a good story line, that happened to take place in a sorority But if it were a brilliant script, I would certainly consider it. Moore describes the work as "pornography", a genre whose literary and artistic quality he and Gebbie hope to raise:.
Certainly it seemed to us [Moore and Gebbie] that sex, as a genre, was woefully under-represented in literature. Every other field of human experience—even rarefied ones like detective, spaceman or cowboy—have got whole genres dedicated to them. Whereas the only genre in which sex can be discussed is a disreputable, seamy, under-the-counter genre with absolutely no standards: [the pornography industry]—which is a kind of Bollywood for hip, sleazy ugliness.
The first six chapters of Lost Girls were initially published in the Taboo anthology magazine, beginning in with Taboo 5. Eventually Top Shelf was selected as the publisher, and at one point the finished product was meant to be released in late or early Top Shelf later planned to debut it in the United States at the San Diego Comic-Con , but due to graphic design taking longer than anticipated, it was released at the July convention instead. The original three-volume slipcase edition of Lost Girls was replaced in summer by a single-volume edition.
Over the course of the book's sixteen-year production, Moore and Gebbie entered into a romantic relationship, and in they announced their engagement to be married. Moore originally planned to write in his usual style, producing a lengthy script from which Gebbie would work, but after some initial attempts they decided "to collaborate much more closely.
